Mark Holland
Mark Holland began playing Native American Flute in 1994. He started his group, Autumn's Child, in 1995 and recorded his first CD in 1997. He began his publishing and record label, Cedar n Sage Music in 1998. Mark has released 14 CDs on his own label. He recorded 2 additional albums, one on Wild Stone Media and "Planting the Seed' on Gemini Sun Records.
Mark's playing can also be heard on many other artist's recordings and compilations. Mark began integrating Butch Hall flutes into live performance and recordings around 2004. Taken by the sound of Butch's "Concert Flutes" due to their bigger volume and clarity, Mark has recorded with the G and A from 2005 to the present (2009). Also worthy of note: in 2007 Mark recorded his arrangement of the Moody Blues' classic, "Nights In White Satin" featured on the CD "A Different Kind Of Real" using the Little Horse" A minor. This flute cut through so perfectly with an innocence and brilliance of sound that it had to be used for the main melodies and improv sections. Whenever this piece is played in concert people are fascinated to find out that it is a "starter" flute. The Butch Hall G minor flute can be heard on Mark's newest CD to date (2009) entitled "Reflections". "It is an honor and treat to have Butch Hall's flutes represented on my flute tree and on my recordings". mh
