Took ten minutes to fall in love with this flute. It’s a work of art, beauty in simplicity. The mouthpiece is the most comfortable I’ve experienced, the plate gives a clear, crisp, musical note, and it is a haunting and ethereal musical instrument. I can’t stop playing it. I just received my flute safe and sound… and WHAT A SOUND INDEED! First the craftsmanship is incredible (pictures don’t do it justice). I was amazed immediately at the upgrade in quality of tone, accuracy, and range compared to my Coyote Oldman 5 hole flute I’ve had since the 80’s. I feel inadequate to the quality of this instrument but it sure will motivate this ‘old dog’ to practice practice practice as that old joke goes ( Guy asks a cab driver in NY how to get to Julliard… “Practice practice practice” says the cabbie) . What a pleasure to play.

My only complaint… it was so hard to continue playing because I was smiling so much every time I heard the tone of this wonderful instrument!

Finally I want to say thank you personally for your incredible customer support. I manage the support team at Universal Audio ( LA-2As…Apollo interfaces…etc ) and I am very impressed with your professional and helpful interaction with me during the whole process. This flute is amazing! Perfect design and construction – the flute is a real beauty – and the sound is so delightful and lively, with spot on tuning…my favorite part is how this flute can handle passionate playing without “overblowing” and the notes stay pure when pushed to their limits…this flute is a joy to play and a joy to hear, pure and simple.

My review is a question—Are you looking for a great flute for a great and outstanding customer service?? Here’s the answer to that question buy your flute from BUTCH HALL FLUTES!! I purchased Le Mira Cola two weeks ago and the voice of this flute is pure sweetness! Drop the mic, the end.

I recently purchased a used A-Minor Butch Hall (#101) from 2004. A wonderful sounding/looking flute in Perfect condition. It is a couple inches longer than the Little Horse that I just bought to fit into my girlfriend’s hiking pack (she hikes a Lot!!). She plays a concert flute and Piccolo (she never takes her flutes into the woods), but she has never owned a Native American Flute. Last year I got her favorite Chocolates for her birthday. This flute was less expensive, and will last a whole lot longer… and I think she Needs one!

I did not have a B minor flute and this was one of the most reasonably priced flutes I could buy. I am very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the flute. The smell of the cedar is wonderful and the construction is top notch. It is tuned very well and I am enjoying my time with it. I am considering purchasing more from this manufacturer. I cannot tell you about the visual aesthetics of this flute because I am blind; but it feels really nice in my hands. So, it sounds great and feels good and that’s what counts to me. I would strongly recommend this as a great starter flute.
