  • From Christian on "Rainmaker" Anasazi Style Flute

I own a Rainmaker of Bubinga, and it is a lovely & sweet toned instrument, which I am fully appreciating now that my skill is improving. This is not an easy flute to play, especially if like me you have never played a rim-blown flute before ! The payoff is totally worth the time in practicing – The Rainmaker’s voice calls to the core of your being and whispers of old, peaceful times. Truly a flute to sit in a quiet place and give voice to your heart. These guys are really helpful and lovely folk, when I was hoping to buy one none were available but Laura did some searching and bingo – My new companion was found 🙂
  • From billiedale on "Le Mita Cola” G Minor Flute

Just received the Le Mita Cola (my friend) flute. The tone quality has a sweet rich timber that you look for in a Native American style flute. The finish on the eastern red cedar is a semi gloss that allows the long straight wood grain to beam through. The flute plays very easy with minimum breath. I am delighted with my purchase. This flute is very handsome looking, plays like a dream, and is easily worth twice its purchase price.

  • From Phil on A Minor Concert Flute

    Butch & Laura,

Just received my first flute ("A" minor concert). It was "love at first note" (Lol). There are really no words to describe the sound quality and total craftsmanship of the flute. It makes my other flutes pale in comparison. You will definitely be hearing more from me as I add more of your flutes to my quiver.

P.S. — Thanks Laura. You picked out a cool colored flute bag for me.

  • From Warrior Child on E Minor Concert Flute

I have long enjoyed the awesome quality of these flutes even back to days on a Ranch in Az next door to Rodger Dry Lake off Woody Mountain Rd with awesome wildlife of Elk & Deer, Birds & Much more. My first flute was the first choice Learners type flute that got me going Sending sounds out to the Elk herds in great Numbers that they and the dear & most other wildlife enjoyed and came nearer as I played. Latter down the road I moved to S. Dakota and found The Artist behind the flute I had and found he had grown in producing many wide ranges of Quality flutes and I starting buying and testing more. My favorite was the E minor Concert, even so with the reach that took more to do so as I had a smaller hand and a disabled hand/shoulder combined and through consistently training three numb fingers to reach the lower three holes it finally came true for me.
I’d love to see a Courting flute some day made by Butch.

  • From Casey on C Minor Concert Flute

    Good evening Laura and family,
I recieved my new flute today and it is absolutely amazing! I own several other flutes and I have played probably over a hundred different native flutes over the years. Most of the flutes I’ve played are excellent pieces but they just don’t have the range that this flute has. I am beyond impressed and will share this with my family and friends. This flute will be a treasured family heirloom. I wish you and your family all the best and hope you continue making these awesome flutes for years to come!
Also, thank you for the wonderful hand written note. Every flute I have is very unique and meaningful to me and I know most of the makers personally. It was really nice to see that you put such pride and sentiment into your work.

  • From Scott on F# Minor Concert Flute

    Hi Laura,
I just received the flute today and must say that I am totally blown away! In my 13 years of playing Native American Style Flute I have not seen its like in terms of craftsmanship, tone, and playability. I will definitely be purchasing from you again!

    Many thanks!

    Scott

  • From Dave on Fleece Flute Bag, Large

Nice bag! I have several similar bags that came with other flutes. This one is well made and a good fit for my E minor flute. I was wondering if I should get this or just an inexpensive sleeve — glad I got it. I particularly like the beaded tie.

  • From Whip on G Minor Concert Flute

My Butch Hall flute in G minor and eastern red cedar arrived about a week ago. Simple in design, its beauty lies in the rich, warm tones that it produces and the smooth as a baby’s bottom finish. Although it seems to take a little more air to hit the top 2-3 notes, when you do hit it, it is right on. I dealt with Laura through email and phone and it was a very pleasant experience….like talking to an old friend, not a stranger. I highly recommend Butch Hall flutes for your playing and listening pleasure. His pride in craftsmanship and tuning perfection is unsurpassed.

The army man sticker was cute, thanks, Laura and Butch.

  • From Louis on F# Minor Concert Flute

I now have 5 of the Butch Hall Flutes (Concert A, G, F#, E, D) and obviously am a big fan. Their flutes are are beautifully finished and are so smooth to the touch. But it’s the sound and playability that I like. Even on the Low D that I have, I can use a strong breath and keep the lowest note clear with good volume. Another thing I like about their flutes is how easy it is to roll a note for that yawning, bluesy effect. I’d probably have a Low C, too, but there currently aren’t any in stock!

  • From Jim on E Minor Concert Flute

I received my E Minor in cedar today and it’s absolutely stunning! I am new to Native American flutes and have zero musical background so purchased based only on sound clips. This flute is absolutely gorgeous and the sound quality is steps WAY above other flute makers that I ordered from recently. Out of the 3 others I ordered from other makers, I only kept one…I sent one back for a refund and gave the other to my nephew for Christmas. The one that I kept cost me $280 and although I love the deep, sultry tone it has, the attention to detail is not even close to Butch Hall’s precision workmanship. I wish I had found Butch Hall flutes first. They are exceptional and I will only order from Butch Hall from now on. For the price, these flutes cannot be beat. The prices are low but the quality is extreme high end. By the way…thank you so much for including a hand written Christmas card with my order. It was a special added touch.
