Our Le Mita Cola gives you that lower, pleasing tone at a very good value. The finger spread spacing is a comfortable 5-1/2″ center-to-center, top to bottom finger hole. G minor is the most versatile key, in that it’s a relative major Bb, similar to horns in an orchestral setting.

These flutes are built using a superior one piece construction method. This gives you a more solid flute without any delamination concerns which some two-piece flutes face. Drilling is also very accurate in as much as I can bore down the center of the flute +/- .002″, or ½ the thickness of a $1 bill. Drilling also makes for a prettier flute without the glue lines.

Our flutes have a 6 hole, extended range tuning. This is sometimes called a Mode 1-Mode 4 tuning. They have a total of 15 notes, covering an octave plus a minor third. They also cover a 12 tone chromatic octave within the 15 note scale. This is the standard tuning used by most flute makers. A finger chart is included with your new flute, showing exactly how to achieve each of the 15 notes.

Our flutes have a hand-rubbed finish that includes four hand sandings, four coats of finish (inside and out) and a final steel wool rub. This process takes over four weeks. You’ll feel and see the difference our finishing effort makes.

Our basic flutes can be discounted in a quantity of 10+ for schools, flute circles, churches, scouting groups and other instructional use. Please inquire for further information on teaching discounts.

If you are new to Native American Flutes, this is an excellent entry level flute. Do not be deceived by either the very reasonable price or the term ‘starter’ as this flute is not a toy, but is truly an instrument in every sense of the term. The sound is very mellow and soothing. Most of the music for these flutes includes note-by-note pictures of which holes must be covered or open, so that one does not really need to be able to read music in order to play a tune.

My Le Mita Cola was worth its weight in gold on a recent 12-hour car ride (each way) with a toddler! It was light-weight, compact, and each time a "storm brewed" the soothing sounds were an instant, improvised lullaby – and soothed the nerves of the adults.

    You will love this flute!

hello Butch & Laura, got the new flute, it’s beautiful. it looks,
feels, and sounds very nice. the tone is full and rich, even at the
high end, i have paid twice as much for flutes that don’t sound half
as good. i can’t believe it only cost 65 dollars. the craftsmanship
is of the highest quality. i have just about worn out the flute i got
from you last year in Am. you are doing good work here. Thanks-Terry

I’d just like to thank you for the prompt delivery of my recently ordered flute.

It arrived in just a few days, carefully packaged.

The sound is wonderful, and the simplicity and future durability of the finish is amazing.

(I’ve worked in woods and know a good finish)

I’m an artistic person and have worked in many different medias but always wished I could do something musical.

I wasn’t blessed with a singing voice and music is the one thing I love, that I hadn’t found a way to produce.

I have no desire to learn to read music, which is another great thing about the Native American flute.

Music theory is not necessary to make a joyful, or soulful expression.

Thank you for giving me, the ability to express myself in the one way that always eluded me until now.

    Hi folks,
I just received my "Le Mita Cola". What a wonderful flute with clean, clear notes and feather carvings for a very low price. I do like the new style "block".
I have one of your F#s in walnut with the old style block and I like the way it sits low to the flute nest. I’ve always liked the style of bird carving with feathers and I like that the narrowness of the new style doesn’t add bulk to the flute. It appears integrated with the flute and complements it without appearing to be perched on it like some larger ones do. Hope you’re enjoying the Fall.
    thanks for another enjoyable flute,
    Dave Margolis

Butch, Received my La Mita Cola flute last week. Excellent woodworking and finish, and you packaged it well for shipping. I have very little musical knowledge having never been able to learn an instrument and was worried I was going to be an old Man at a yard sale one day selling numerous instruments I can’t play. Well, it’s been less than a week practicing and today I was able to play through practice song #1 in your Native American flute song book. It doesn’t sound as good as you on the CD, but each time it gets better and better. It’s not what I’d call easy, but with a little practice it can be played by anyone. For those like me, who have a musical itch to scratch, Go For It!! Thanks Butch.

The Le Mita Cola G minor arrived promptly recently, and I have had a wonderful time seeing how my osteo-arthritic fingers adapt to playing it. So far, great, and what a gift for an old guy who had to quit clarinet after playing since I was in grade school. Yesterday at our Lutheran Church I played a duet with our talented professional guitarist, and "Amazing Grace" never sounded so good! Along with our Pastor, it was decided the flute will be perfect for Memorial Services/funerals when no piano or organ is available. Love the flute! Nevin

Much has been said about the `La Mita Cola´ NAsF so I will try to be brief on this review : I simply cannot put it down once I start playing it.
Again a big `Thank you´ to the Butch Hall Family !

Just received the Le Mita Cola (my friend) flute. The tone quality has a sweet rich timber that you look for in a Native American style flute. The finish on the eastern red cedar is a semi gloss that allows the long straight wood grain to beam through. The flute plays very easy with minimum breath. I am delighted with my purchase. This flute is very handsome looking, plays like a dream, and is easily worth twice its purchase price.

I received the flute I ordered (three days ago, I might add) and I am blown away by it. The quality is much better than I expected. I expected a thin, maybe glued together, flute for $65. No, this thing is is solid. Beautiful. Elegant. Better than I even dreamed of. The sound is amazing. It even smells beautiful! You could tell that this company takes pride in their workmanship, just by the packaging. A how to play guide, a cheat sheet of notes, a hand written thank you card, and even a list of flute circles local to me ( I’m in Ohio. They looked them up!) . The flute is so beautiful. The experence of ordering was better than any online store I have shopped at. If I ever order another, I will get it from Butch Hall Flutes!

Delivery was prompt; 2.5 days to Colorado. The flute has a beautiful finish and a beautiful voice. I have played the flute for 30 minutes straight and it didn’t stop playing because of the water. I love the voice on this flute and it is my first choice when I want to play. I’ll definitely add a concert tuned flute to my collection (E or D) for the low notes.
